2011 Arts Guild Award Presentations
The presentations for the Stevenage Arts Guild Awards were made by the Mayor of Stevenage on Saturday 19th June. Every year the Arts Guild gives awards to young Stevenage residents between the age of 16 and 24 who are embarking upon a career in the arts.
The awards are designed to help them improve their standard of performance by contributing towards the cost of a new instrument or provide equipment for their studies. The Mayor presented cheques to all the recipients and several of the young people performed during the evening.
The award ceremony held at the Gordon Craig Theatre was followed by "It's Variety Night" - an evening of entertainment as part of the Stevenage Festival - in which many of the award winners performed.
